Q. How long is a Green Retreat designed to last for?ShowHide
A. All our garden offices are designed for a 30 year life span.
Q. Will my Green Retreat come with electrics?ShowHide
A. Yes. The Inspiration, Expression and Pinnacle ranges all come with 4 double 13 amp sockets, internal and extenral lighting and an RCD protected consumer unit as standard and is Part P registered by our own qualified electrician. This is also available as an electric upgrade on the Horizon range of buildings.
Q. Can I have a toilet and/or kitchen in my Green Retreat?ShowHide
A. Yes, you can. We will liaise with your plumber to ensure that any necessary openings are in place ready for your plumber to connect the required services.
Q. Can I have underfloor heating?ShowHide
A. Underfloor heating can be installed as an optional extra however, the heat retention properties of the floor in all our garden offices are so efficient that it is not essential. In addition, underfloor heating can only be installed with our laminate floor upgrade.
Q. Can I have a partitioned area in my Green Retreat?ShowHide
A. Yes, we can install partition walls in any of our larger sized garden offices.
Q. I live in a conservation area, do I need planning permission?ShowHide
A. No, as long as your Green Retreat is constructed at the rear of your property, you don't normally need plannning permission.
Q. I live in a ground floor flat with sole access to the garden. Do I need planning permission?ShowHide
A. Yes, you will need to contact the planning department of your local council as flats are subject to different planning rules.
Q. Can I have an apex roof?ShowHide
A. Green Retreats come in 4 ranges, all of which have a sloping roof front to back, with a rear gutter and downpipe. Our sister company, ProWorkshop, provides garden buildings with an apex roof. For more details, please visit www.proworkshop.co.uk.
Q. How long does it take for my Green Retreat to be built?ShowHide
A. Depending on size, your Green Retreat will take between 1 and 3 days to build. If you have requested us to provide the foundations for your Green Retreat, this will take an additional half a day and will normally be installed one week prior to the build date.
Q. How good is the sound proofing on a Green Retreat?ShowHide
